Welcome in HTH dialog group.
Please choose characters you want to work at. Maximum 3 in work at the time, you may claim more when you have these finished.
Technical details, HTH dialog patch package and XML manual is in the Technical section.
Download HTH Offline version 0.670 or later. Find XML dialog manual in the package.
If you don't feel comfortable with XML, upload dialogs in any format as an attachment. I will convert that into XML for you.
Shall you have a question, post it in the forum unless you have serious reason for hiding it from public. In that case use a private message. Don't use "send an email", no one uses true email address here.

Cool. Well, I'm Agent9, I appeared on the you-know-where yammering about how I'm a hack writer, and can probably do this on my spare time. Like I said before, I'm not that great, I'm not even that special. The worst that happens is my dialog is trash and it ends up being scrapped. That said, I'm mostly a **** writer, and no, you can't see it because it would reveal my standing in the fandom.
So I'm on a wild ride here. I hope I can enjoy this, and I'm not sure who to take, or even what the rules are. I think I saw something about rules earlier. Well, I'll make myself at home here, because why not?

Nice to meet you! I don't need to see references, I'm Tabby only for this project, not gonna reveal my identity either.
Most of original character dialogs sounds like cheap south-asian hooker. Many are missing and only talking sprites got a bit decent. I believe everyone can do better than that.
The only rules are to take just few characters at the time, more once you get some finished. If more people want to do the same character, they should resolve that by discussion.
If you don't feel savvy with XML, I can convert your dialog to XML for you. Just use info available for dialog variations, like zone, player gender or species, scene return status (done or back) and for threesome also status of the other character.
I've implemented significant updates since patch upload, most are regarding sprite actions control from dialog. I will upload that on Sunday when more is implemented. Also there will be much more example XML files with sprite actions.

Welcome! I'm not experienced in XML either, I've been looking at the tutorials for days now, and well...Let's say I've been in special school all my academic career, and learning is difficult for me. But that doesn't mean you shouldn't learn! Glad to have you on board.

I'm glad that you are both willing to do dialogs.
If you don't understand anything, just ask. I'll try my best to explain anything.
If you want to do something but not sure how, just post you idea on the board, I'll show you how to do that.
That XML is just text based form of nested object tree, so don't loose too much time with that.
Dialog is divided into set of states, each consists of what character says to you (in one turn) with set of player responses for that. Each response is what player says to the character with action what that response is supposed to do: Move dialog to another character state, and/or to start a sex scene, or go to different place/zone. So each state is character speech turn, player's turn is the responses.

I am only capable of writing dialog, but I am more than willing to do so.
Rather than claiming a character, I'd rather that you assign to me characters you intend on working on.
I used a disposable e-mail for this registration, along with the random number/letter name, so this forum will be the only real way to get in touch.
That said, once you tell me what dialog you want written (Please provide the clearest instructions you can) I'll try to get going on it.
I suggest you start a thread with the character's name, instructions on what kind of sex they will be offering (if I understand it, you want to have to "earn" the sex the more wild it is) and I'll take a swing at it.

I posted the talk tree for Jade.
I kept it VERY simple. Pretty much no branching, just a success state, a fail state, and a quit state. You may also notice that the forum censors my swears, but I think you can fill in the blanks easy enough.
I'm really of a mind that these conversations should be very short and to the point. People aren't here to romance a character for hours and then finally seduce them, they wanna get to the humping but feel like they were "good guy" enough to "earn" it. Plus, let's face it, these characters are supposed to put out much more easily than real people, so I don't want to put in lots of extra work just to disappoint players. Plus we've got, like 50 characters here. So some economizing is necessary. Keep It Simple, Stupid.

Sidebar - if there's any room for requests, I'd like Chrissy from RLD to appear so I can write dialog for her, because she's my favorite among Crow's creations. I thought that Crow would have RLD offline version done by December, then by January, then... and yet nothing.
I could make one too. The question is if it should be standalone or integrated in the HTH game as another zone on the map, where each street could be a subzone like a floor in the Tower.

It's good. There might be little modifications needed due to technical limitations, particularly response line length.
Regarding next character, If you like Chrissy, you might like Kendra too.
She is at only one place, Tower floor 8. (She has inactive sprite in Main Hall, I could make it active, but only 1 of her scenes has proper background for Main Hall)
She has 3 sex scenes (one is anal) and threesome blowjob with Rose.

I might misunderstood this in my previous response. Did you mean to place Chrissy to HTH island so the character is not a **** Street hooker? Do you have particular zone preference? I can do that, but I have to replace background in each scene.

There's one feature I want more than any other - a character select screen.
I hate having to wander around through dozens of locations, trying to figure out where the hell the girl I wanna play with actually is.
I'd love to have an option on the booting screen to just bring up a list of names, or ideally names and sprites, and just pick what I want.

I'm sorry that I'm slow at checking that, processing into XML and replying. Unfortunately I can do this only for less than hour a day, usually after midnight. Sometimes I can't do this at all.
Please do Anahi (Glass Room upper floor and Stone Circle, scenes are handjob, doggy and anal).
If I don't get back here, please continue with Andrea and Kristen (both in the Gold Room only. If you prefer any other character, just pick her instead.

OK, I tried to give her more talk, a typical "I don't mind that your boobs are small" "Thank you for saying that let's ****" type of exchange.
I've started putting spaces in the swears instead of using bracketed replacements, hope that helps.

Also I dunno when you're going to get to Francesca or in what manner she will be integrated into the game, but I'd like her to still be a **** and also have all of her animations (oral, missionary, piledriver), and the condom/no condom option, as I'd like to write her accordingly.
My only other request is to write Chrissy once her turn comes up, I dunno if you'll be incorporating her into this or into a later RLD offline variant.

Please do some simple dialog states for player return to Anahi as suggested in Anahi thread.
Then please do Kristen. She is in the Gold Room only with only one scene.
Francesca is already in the game and should work in the current version (and in previous full versions too). He (she?) is next to Glass Room front door and I believe she is in the Tower floor 4 (?) the Neon Lights bar. He has blowjob and missionary scenes.
His second anal scene is available only for RLD but I can simply add it to HTH game too.
The condom in both scenes can be simply controlled from XML dialog by setting _root variable condom "on" or "off". However this setting has effect on some other characters scenes in case that particular scene has condom option.
You can do his/her dialog anytime you want, you don't need to follow character suggestions I gave you.
Regarding Crissy, it's in the progress. I have her scenes working in HTH game. So far she is accessible only in NPC direct access which I haven't uploaded as it's not finished yet. I would like to place her sprite to some place in the game too. Either along other characters or as an Easter egg to some place in the game usually not visited by players. Do you have some suggestion on that?

1r2k, You need to start claiming these one at a time, posting them in the character chat section when you’re done for XML conversion or as finished xml files, and not just claiming everything and not telling us until it’s done. Else I don’t know what I need to do, and I don’t know if Tabby already has dialog for something.
Tabby, this is the reason I wait for approval, I need to make sure 1r2k and/or you are not already working on a character. The only ones I really wanted to do (Jezzel, Chrissy, and Francesca) I’ve already claimed or finished, so I see my goal as filling in all the other characters as needed. And it’s hard for me to know what to do next unless you instruct me as to what I need to do.
Also Francesca is a trans woman if’n you’re wondering. I’ll do her next while we I wait for orders on Kristen or for you to assign me to someone else.

I'm sure it won't, you've been pretty consistently awesome thus far. We just need to get organized or we'll never get this all done. Can you post all the dialogs you've done thus far in Character Chat, and start coming to Tabby either to request girls or to ask who needs to be done next? That way we won't be working at cross purposes.
I'm going to do the requested alternative dialog for Anahi and the dialog for Francesca, then we'll see where I am needed from there.
As for Chrissy's placement, Tabby, I'd say that you re-purpose the "HTH Studio" floor in the Tower (which has ****-all in it) to be the "HTH Brothel" and just put all of the RLD characters in there, Chrissy included.

I prefer locations already in the game to keep the effort level reasonable. There are enough abandoned/unfinished/useless places in the game.

I know she’s in RLD too so that means she’s going to be on the “W h o r e floor,” wherever that ends up being. What all sex acts does she perform?
I’d be writing only the first few lines as unique, it would be the same after that because doing whole new dialog trees for each bit is exhausting. I will of course make unique RLD dialog if you intend on including her as a w h o r e. Although expect it to be pretty to the point, since the whole point of the **** is you just need to pay them, not be nice to them, to get laid.
The only reason Francesca’s is so long is I wanted to play with the fact that she’s the only trans character in the game (all others are girls, guys, or herms).

Regarding updates, you can test XML easily. In the game folder you find "data" folder. There is "dialog" folder inside. There are all dialog XML files. Just download XML file from this board and save (or copy it to) in that dialog folder overwriting previous XML file. Then updated dialog works.
It's not easy to upload 1GB file to the internet because most file sharing sites don't work well with Tor (which is an anonymization network and secure web browser). I can share current working version directly using Onionshare tool as I did in the past but it works correctly only when downloading party uses Tor too.

It's ok. I can wait for the next public release. I'm hoping that you'll be able to implement some kind of "choose your girl" feature sooner or later anyway so I can uh...Enjoy my passion faster.
You know what would be cool, although I dunno if it's implementable? A cell phone. Just icons and names, alphabetical, and you scroll down to pick one out. I mean it would just be a menu, clearly, but it would be a good way to implement it.

There will be test build definitely because the direct access list and wh*re room involved too many files changes and it need to be tested before any public build is made. I hope to have test build done in a week or two.
I'll share it with 1r2 using Tor/OnionShare as I know he can download file from me using Tor.
I'll try to share it with you, Huk, the same way using public Web-to-Tor gateway. These web2tor gateways are inherently insecure but it should be ok in this case. If this won't work, the only other way is 1r2 to share the file with you some other way, like a Mega or Google Drive. I can't register/upload to neither over Tor network.

I've done XML files but need to tweak some details yet. I.e. that "I can do it again" and similar is not used when player enters that state different way than doing that scene.

Finally wrote Chrissy's dialog. It's not as good as I'd have liked, TBH. But I realized most of what I like about her is headcanon stuff that I talked about with Crow that he never implemented the art or animations for.
Anyway I'll do whatever's next when asked.

She is in multiple places:
1. Anne's Private Room (Main Hall upper floor)
2. Northern Falls
3. Gold Room
4. Player Private Room (south-east island dot) - called by phone.
She has 6 normal scenes: Blowjob, Oral, Shower play, Missionary, Doggystyle, Reverse cowgirl.
She has also 2 ancient more or less broken scenes. Let's exclude these from dialog.
Because her private room is not that easy to find, dialog could contain offer to go there.

What do the scenes look like? I don't know what you mean by both blowjob and oral or "Shower Scene."
Can I have some scenes in some areas and some in others? I was thinking she only showers in her private room.

You can play the game to see that. "Oral" is with Anne on her back where player just moves mouse cursor over her clit. Pretty rubbish scene. "Shower" scene is with toys and shampoo.
Regarding Anne RLD, I forgot about that. You can do that too, but it's not necessary. RLD scenes are missionary vaginal and missionary anal. Technically RLD Anne is different person to normal Anne, with different dialog file in the game. Dialogs can be made related, i.e. different greeting in the first state if the player already talked to the other version of Anne.

Since you are the only volunteer capable of writing a dialog now, it will take eternity to finish even popular characters.
I though that HTH fans will be willing of writing or modifying dialogs. I was absolutely wrong. Only two people have ever been interested.

I suggest to use it as two variants of one scene in the dialog. No need for extending dialog for that.
I.e. two same responses:
1. Let's do cowgirl now. (older version)
2. Let's do cowgirl now. (latest version)
I'll look next week what I have to do with the new version to get it reasonably working.
